Congratulations to Representative Matt Hatchett!

Congratulations to Representative Matt Hatchett for being invited to the Whitehouse to view signing the Presidential Executive Order  on Transparency.

Representative Matt Hatchett tells the story that last Friday, 6-21-2019,  he was working in Georgia and received a phone call from a voice asking him if he could come to the Whitehouse to view the President signing an executive order to embrace transparency over health care pricing. Not sure how real the request was, he asked a question to confirm only to realize that it was for real.

Representative Hatchett then did set about getting an airplane ticket and other logistics to get to Washington for the signing on Monday June 24, 2019.

Fortuitously , Matt had just 2 weeks earlier participated in the 2019 HomeTown First Policymaker tour of the summer for 2019 where we visited four hospitals and four rural health organizations so he was fully briefed on current activities in rural health care and health care in general. The honor was his to be invited to the Whitehouse and the honor was HomeTown’s for having had him ride extensively through rural health care territory in south Georgia. Great Job Matt!! Look forward to working with you on issues such as  these and other issues.

Additionally Matt was only one of two Georgia people invited to the signing with the other being Lt. Governor Geoff Duncan. Georgia was well represented at the Whitehouse! Good job!

Thanks, Jimmy Lewis
