Today starts the 2020 Georgia Legislative session: There will be very important issues effecting rural hospitals and health care. The main issues may include:
- The state budget and the 4%- 2020 and 6% – 2021 proposed Budget cuts
- Medicaid financing – as in the Medicaid Waiver discussions
- The Rural Hospital Tax Credit revisions-based on the audit that was conducted in the off session
- CON – the annual hot spot –
- Indications are that there will be CON bills introduced earlier in the session with some specific language sought by legislators to fix their concerns
- Pharmacy Benefit Managers and how to reign them in
- Transparency language and the status of adoption of the recently passed language
- Census and reapportionment
