Purpose of this commentary: To recognize and educate the health care community, especially Georgia’s health care Community about the pending issues facing rural health in Georgia and other state as well.
What is really important is how to determine which battle to pick to fight or which sword to die on with such limited rural resources. The basis for that choice is how to get the maximum benefit in cash flow and political support for rural hospitals.
Now is the time to educate legislators instead of waiting for the session to start. With so many new people it will be a real chaotic situation with so many people trying to learn the issues.This email is an attempt to educate you on what is coming in the next three months prior to the 2018 session.

Rural hospitals need to work on rural issues and not get caught up in distractive urban issues that end up being hurtful to the sustainability of a rural hospital.
