Legislature approves CON changes, Medicaid funding plan, and Hospital transparency.
Facts:
- This 2019 Legislative Session has been a themed “rural hospital and health care” session. Rural has been the buzzword!
- Two House Bills, among others, passed effecting heath care in Georgia – urgent to read!!!
- 2019 was chosen by the legislature to be a major reform to CON stemming from the House Rural Development Council
- The Final battle is boiling down to the major urban hospitals against the Legislature and the Governor except Piedmont who pulled out of the Anti-legislature position early on in the session and submitted two letters to the public disavowing any association with positions taken by other hospital organizations.
- Several rural hospitals separated for the pack as well and their CEO’s saw first-hand the problem with the large urban not for profit hospitals who lost major access to any communication and or support by the legislature
