Hospital Transparency; Medicaid funding bill OK’d by Senate

Yesterday was a major day;

  1. Ga. Senate OKs bill to fund nonprofit hospitals, disclose finances
    1. This would fund $1 billion to state budget with Provider Fee and
    2. Would implement transparency as was originally presented in HB198
    3. This passed Senate 42-11
  2. Hospital transparency, Medicaid funding bill OK’d by Senate, then sidetracked
    1. It then failed in a reconsideration vote
    2. Having moved to the House for a vote to agree this bill was tabled in a major defeat for the House
  3. The bill will be brought up again this morning for passage in that this bill has the One billion Provider Fee
  4. There was major legislative unhappiness as a result of this. Bad things can happen in a case like this.
