Recently HomeTown conducted its 13th Annual Leadership Development seminar at Lake Oconee. This 2-day session, as usual, covered personality and personal goals and what it takes to be a leader. It is a deep dive into self! With nearly 100 alumni from the past 13 years completed , there were several subjects covered in the two days, one of which was Important books that Jimmy has read or is reading that are important for life and leadership. After the meeting, several attendees asked me for the Book Reading List that I have amassed in recent months and years. To that point I have prepared a priority summary book reading list below that we will also post on HomeTown’s web page for your consideration and update periodically. The list will be broken into several a categories of my own making. I have found and read these books through personal references, academics, friends and book lists from many journals and discussions with people in leadership, CEO’s, Politician’s, museums and libraries. While the total list would be several hundred books that I have read over the years, this is a list of “must reads” that I have read and do highly recommend for leadership development. Just because I read them does not mean I endorse them but I have found it critically important to study varying points of view thus the wide variety of books read.
