Communication is Key to Survival: Here are Simple ways to improve your Communications within your Organization

HomeTown has, over the past years, learned how to use several tools to communicate better and more efficiently. So, we wanted to share this for your use.

These are very flexible tools to communicate with. With the continued need to maximize the time of key people, these tools can help tremendously.

Application

    1. Group Texts
      1. Since everyone probably knows how to use the text feature on their smartphone, make sure to go ahead and set up a “group text” to communicate quickly, providing updates in real-time
      2. What is a group text?
        1. It is a text that can be sent to a number of people. The best way is to keep it to subject matter focused and limited to a small number affected by the subject and/or able to make decisions on the subject matter, not more than 10-15 recipients. Examples include,
          1. C-suite personnel so as to avoid disruption finding these people in the hospital or out and about
          2. Business office personnel to constantly share questions and information without having to leave your desk
          3. Community leadership to instantly update this special group without having to make phone calls and should include:
            1. County Manager
            2. County Commission Chairman
            3. City Manager
            4. Chamber of Commerce president
            5. Hospital C-suite
            6. Local Industry CEOs
          4. Legislators
            1. State Senator and Representative
          5. Hospital Board
            1. For instantaneous updates and feedback
