   • Students will learn how to look up patient eligiblity for Medicare, how to determine date eligible and the benefits that are available for that patient.  Students will also learn to determine if the patient has other coverage under HMO or LGHP benefits.  The course will teach students to understand Part A benefits and how days of illness can impact patients.

   • Determine if patient has HMO or MSP

3. Webinar 2: Using Direct Data Entry (DDE) for Account Receivables

         Course Description:
   • During the second webinar on Direct Data Entry, Dale will demonstrate the proper way to status a Medicare claim. He will review how to determine when a Medicare claim will process or deny, and students will learn how to recognize the reason for denials. Since most denials are connected to incorrect keying of claims, Dale will also review the steps for properly keying a claim directly into the DDE system.

4. Webinar 3: How to Use Direct Data Entry (DDE) to Help the Hospital

         Course Description:
   • What do you do with Medicare claims that are returned with provider errors?  In this last webinar, Dale will provide students with the proper and timely procedures for correcting claims that are returned. He will also review claims adjustment online. Monitoring claims processing and payment is vital to receiving payment. Generating the proper reports regularly will keep staff current with the status of claims so payment can be processed.  Dale will be introducing the steps to create and develop reports to monitor the claim procedure processes.
